About me

I was born and raised in Guatemala, a small country in Central America. During my summers as a child I used to visit my grandfather's farm, where I got my first job. It was an incredible experience and learned a lot of new things, including riding horses and milking cows. Later when I turned fourteen my father got a computer set up in his house which was used to monitor the factory where he worked. The computer required regular maintenance therefore every time the computer had a problem, a technician would go to fix it. Since I was a curious kid, I would cling on him to try to learn what he was doing, he sort of mentored me and taught me the basics about computers. He even gave me a couple of computer games to play with.

As I got older I became more interested in computers. When I turned fifteen I taught myself "BASIC" on a monochrome computer. I programmed lots of fun games like tic-tac-toe and hangman. Later in school when I was older they started teaching "BASIC". It was quite easy since I had been previously exposed to it. Sometimes my friends would ask me to help them out with their own projects. Later when I was sixteen I taught myself "Visual Basic 6" which had just come out. By the end of high school, I was pretty advanced with computers. I was making small projects, html websites, and doing some Flash. I also got a job with my stepfather as a computer technician where I would clean and fix computers for his clients.

After graduation I studied a couple of years of college, but decided to work on my own by opening my own business. I created a web company called JAGS where I would program html and flash websites for small companies. A year later after working on my own, my cousin was impressed and offered me a job at an advertisement company. I was given the position of a media manager, where I would create websites, fix computers, film events and take pictures for the web. Two years later, I decided to get a degree, so I applied at ASU where I majored in Computer Science with a concentration in Software Engineering and a minor in Theater. While attending ASU I worked two and a half years at the Memorial Union updating and creating websites.
